VPF looks for socially entrepreneurial organisations with high potential social impact, with the ability to be scaled up rapidly and which are at a crucial stage in the evolution of the charity. It finds these through a focused due diligence process, using its own carefully formulated selection criteria.

VPF Provides multi-year grants which can be spent on strategic activities to scale up the charity, rather than on specific projects that most other funds prioritise.

VPF utilises the experience and skill of VPF members, volunteers and their network of contacts.

VPF gives members ownership of where the money is directed, through a web-based survey of donor priorities in terms of sectors and a chance to participate in due diligence activities.

VPF has a stimulating programme of events, where members can learn more about social entrepreneurship and the social sector as well as meet a like-minded group of people committed to improving the world we live in.
