VPF Networking Session

VPF held a Networking Event for our friends and members on Wednesday 2^nd November at the Waldorf Hilton. Our evening was a great success with 61 guests in attendance. Inspirational leaders AfriKids CEO Georgie Fienberg, and PEAS CEO John Rendel headed our discussion on how charities are developing sustainable operations in Africa and what role VPF are playing in supporting this pursuit. Engaging and informative this panel discussion provided great stimulus for the following reception giving our members and friends the opportunity to meet many more of the inspirational social entrepreneurs that VPF support. It was great to catch-up with so many friends of the VPF family, both old and new. Thank you all for your support.

VPF Annual Conference - Scaling “Inside and Out” 7th July 2011

The VPF Mini Conference on Scaling “Inside and Out” was a great success! VPF's social entrepreneurs, Contact Points, VPFs Trustees, Members and experts in social impact investing and growing organisations gathered for an interactive practical exchange of experience. Topics discussed included: Finance Fit for Growth; Organisation: People, Systems and Process; and Maintaining Quality of Impact. VPF Executive Director, Andrea Soccorso shared, "The afternoon was lively and filled with thought provoking exchanges of hands on experience in scaling social ventures to maximise social impact. The CEOs enjoyed a peer to peer exchange together with insight and experience from the VPF commercial sector network. It was a fantastic example of VPF in action!" The evening concluded with dynamic presentations by Charity/Social Enterprise CEOs on the real change they are making in the lives of children, families and vulnerable people in the UK and around the world - including just how VPF financial and pro bono support has made a difference.

Spirit of Britain Charity Ball 2010

The Spirit of Britain Charity ball was a night of Glamour, excitement and selfless giving.

350 guests turned out in all their 1940’s finest for VPF’s Gala dinner on the 16^th November 2010. Our message on the night was generosity of spirit and our guests certainly took that to heart and helped us raise over a record breaking £250K!

We were generously supported from our Sponsors- Odey Asset Management, Barclays Capital and SVG Capital as well as all of the organisations who bought tables and contributed to this grand total.

It was wonderful to be in the company of so many likeminded people who believe that it is worth making an effort to try and create a fairer world.

VPF/Barclays Capital Social Entrepreneurship Mini Conference 2010

On May 26th, 2010 VPF held a conference convening VPF’s social entrepreneurs to share lessons learned with one another and our network. Major themes affecting our charity CEO’s were discussed and many of you joined us in the evening to discuss how the private sector can best engage with social entrepreneurs. It was a very successful day and we hope to make this an annual conference, a very big thanks to all of our guests and panelists - including Dame Mary Marsh (Director, Clore Social Leadership Programme) and Mathew Bishop (Author of Philanthrocapitalism, US Business Editor and New York Bureau Chief of The Economist) for the valuable support and to Barclays Capital for sponsoring the event.
