    Winning support from VPF is a 'significant moment'

    VPF portfolio venture Excellent Development has described how VPF support has been a 'game changer'.

    Excellent's latest impact report recognises the inspirational social venture's receipt of VPF support as one of the four most 'significant moments" that have "marked a big change in the impacts" Excellent has created since its beginnings in 2002.

    Following VPF's venture philanthropy ethos, which focusses on encouraging the growth of winning entrepreneurial ideas, VPF has provided Excellent with a package of:

    (a) guaranteed mid to long-term unrestricted funding, so far totalling £75,000 over three years (and counting);

    (b) pro bono consulting support to develop growth strategies; and

    (c) access to networks which have enabled the social venture to raise a further £120,000 on top of its VPF grant.

    VPF is proud to have had such an impact in supporting Excellent to spread sustainable sand dam technology, thereby helping alleviate the myriad social and economic problems associated with water poverty in the world's poorest drylands.
